Everyone is welcome to use our public libraries in accordance with ASSABIL’s principles.

Inclusion & public reconciliation

Libraries are open to all, without distinction of race, nationality, or confession.

Secularism

All activities shall be a non-religious nature.

Public space

Our libraries reflect diversity and encourages people to connect and exchange ideas in an open and freely accessible environment.

Political neutrality

As public spaces, the libraries are obliged to ensure that the presence of any political figure does not reflect a partisan connotation to any event.

Free book lending service

Library members

Anyone aged 0+ can become a library member. Parents are responsible for the consultations of their minor children.

Membership card

All you need is to complete the library membership form and provide a copy of your ID.

Borrow books

The library membership card allows adults to borrow up to 4 books for 4 weeks and youth up to 7 books for 4 weeks.

Renew a book

You may renew a book twice, each time for 15 days only, as long as no one else requests it.

Borrowing policy

All library materials can be borrowed except for reference materials such as dictionaries and encyclopedias.

Online account

Each member has an online account on the catalog http://library.assabil.com. This account allows him to consult the list of documents he has borrowed and to renew his borrowed documents if needed.

Do not take any book or other library material out of the library without following the borrowing procedures.

In case any of the borrowed items being lost, damaged, or destroyed, you are required to replace the lost /damaged/destroyed item with a new one.

Make sure to return the borrowed items by the due date.

Parents are required to accompany children under age ten to the library.

Computers & internet access

Library visitors can access free Internet on library computers or via Wi-Fi on their own devices (laptops, tablets, or smartphones).
All you have to do is to request an internet voucher (username and password) from the librarians.

Book bazaar

Libraries are selling books to raise funds to support library acquisitions. Buyers can buy up to two books per visit, and up to four books per month.
