Promoting inclusive governance at the local level for women, youth and refugees through debates, workshops and rap in Lebanon: a new project funded by CFLI- Canada Fund for local initiatives

Over the next few months, ASSABIL will implement a new project funded by CFLI – Canada fund for local initiatives – and in collaboration with 5 public libraries in Ansar, Barja, Bekfaya, Beirut and Ghassan Kanafani of Baddawi, to promote inclusive governance at the local level, particularly with regard to the participation of women, youth (15-25 years old), and Syrian and Palestinian refugees, and to provide an opportunity for informed, civil and at times, artistic discussion of issues related to inclusive governance through debates and rap songs.

600 women and youth from the 5 regions, and 5 librarians will be sensitized to issues related to inclusive governance and will have increased skills in debate; development of initiatives to promote inclusive governance at the local level and self-expression through rap.
